Doing this project for nearly two years, I have interviewed a lot of players that played under Catterick. Boy, have I heard some great tales

wasn't the great Ferenc puskas involved with panathanikos at the time?

Puscas was the manager of the Greek team, I was working in the Adelphi hotel for Otis Elevators at the time, I said to him, the morning after the game ‘ All the great teams you played for and you finish up managing a team like that’ He just shrugged and walked away. We absolutely battered them but couldn’t put the ball in the net until David Johnson equalised near the end, they just put eleven players behind the ball and defended with their lives.

The job they did on an in form Jimmy Husband was deliberate and disgraceful. We had so many chances in the first leg. A 5-1 scoreline would have been a fairer reflection.
