He didnt 'take money' he put a bet on via a third party...and was named MotM by the same paper that exposed him...based on the evidence of yet another 'third party' who was grassing in all and sundry to cop a plea for his own misdemeanors
Examples were made, draconian punishments and bans handed out and nobby stiles got a world cup winners medal.

Oh and he was good, very, very good...we're talking holy trinity good here.

He was guilty deffo the sentence by today's standards was too harsh - he was jailed too was he not?

I looked totally mystified it clearly states he's a blue player, and we did play away in white in that era - can @Eggs- @Major Gowen or any other oldies on the thread help no disrespect just for football knowledge .......lol
It's a bit annoying all that work scanning to get the wrong picture well spotted by @Dario Terracotta though

Did he steal? Did he cheat? Thought he just bet on a match that he was MoTM in. It has since happened quite a few times now but no other banning or imprisonment. Harsh punishment indeed to all 3 players and one was an already England CB. A fine and suspension would have been apt.

These days he’d have got a slap on the wrist.

IMO Matt LeTissier admitted far worse.
