..yep, I think that was the semi final at Old Trafford. I was at that game, Ball scored, Labone went off and the Reds turned it around. Same old story, i’m afraid and I think it followed us being knocked out by Panathanaikos. If my memory serves me right, it was a very depressing week.

Yes the only game when we had one sub - Wilfred Dixon changed the subs around Roger Kenton had been sub e Rey round in the FA cup - with Labone injured marking Toshack would have been ideal when Labby was injured instead he had utility a very good sub in Sandy Brown to mark Toshack no match , and the other lot smelt blood, and knocked us out - the Catt was ill Dixon made the w tong decision- Kenton reckons it was the downturn of that great team moral wise - knocked out of then two massive trophy completions in five days!
