The father in law had a dog and he trained it to lay down with its legs in the air when he said 'emlyn hughes'. He then had to re train it to respond to 'kenny dalglish'...much to the dismay of the rs B in L.
Sadly neither lived long enough to retrain for 'steven gerrard'
That arm in the air for off side was a rs tradition copied from rowdy yeats...both and others used it well over the years.
There's a picture some where of the flying pig being rounded by some striker or other as he slots it in, with yeats in the far distant background arm in the air for the offside that never came.
