Okay that's the breaking point

This season for the league at least, a complete write off.
I haven't so much as read a review about yesterday's game based purely on what I expected to happen, seems to have been exactly that. We are not going to be relegated so the remainder of the season is about seeing who comes and goes next month, with the hope that those who come in are good enough to be around for longer than half a season.
With regards to Allardyce, much as I'm grateful for him steadying the ship, I can't see him being here after this season. Who takes over is anyone's guess. A naive hope on my part is that once safety has been achieved, we may see a change in style more to our liking.

Silva obviously wanted the job, for one. Other managers in jobs were also reluctant to cut and run mid-season.

We offer massive wages and a transfer war chest. Managers will come here.
Silva (with a fair slice of luck) managed three points yesterday after his team had gone into freefall in the previous weeks. The type of manager we aspire to appoint? Posters keep saying he wanted to come to us,but obviously not enough to force the issue.Let's face it,we missed the boat, got a billionarre owner just as the Prem was flooded with money.Still,we might soon have a cardboard cut out of a stadium to use as a carrot to attract a manager with a top CV from the Russian league.

Like the one Hull City took on. Slutsky.

thank god we didnt get him

We are playing like a small club against other small clubs.

Before we were one or two signings of being a really good team. Now we need a new squad if we seriously want to challenge the top 6.

People are wrong to be up in arms now but if we are still playing like this by the end of the season I wouldn't want to hand Big Sam any money in the summer either.
I'm sure that every Everton fan totally agrees with what you are saying.

Impossible to say mate. Loads wanted him before Watford went down the pan.

If he was here he'd have a totally different group of players to deal with. Could have gone either way.
i also warmed to him i admit it. but in our situation we didnt really need a manager that cant set up team to defend. it was absolutely vital for us to steady the ship i think. otherwise even our stadium plans could have been compromised too

Oh I didn't particularly want him. Just saying it could have gone either way with him.

That's probably true, but if we did finish seventh, then, barring the possibility of getting a really top manager in, would you sack Allardyce ?

Under those circumstances, I'd struggle to justify sacking him without having someone who is obviously much better lined up to replace him, and, by much better, I'm thinking of managers who most people would see as being in the top ten list of managers.
If it's a Tuchel lined up then no question. If we cant attract that calibre and SA gets us 7th it's a quandary for the board. I'd thank him and move him on, personally. But the board would have some explaining to do if they got shut of SA if he finished 7th and employed someone who then took us lower than that.

It'd be a judgement call. I'd back any decision to move Allardyce on though. I just dont believe he's going to build here. He is what he is.

Mate. I was surprised at how much the fans not.just accepted, but applauded our performance against Chelsea. Make no bones we rode our luck and were absolutely toothless in attack.

The Albion game was just absurd. How people can defend him going into that game with such a defensive line up is beyond me.

It was the perfect oppirtunuty to play Vlasic or Lookman with Niasse alongside DCL but he gave away the inituative from the start.
Chris Brunt strolled round the pitch looking like he was world class. That's how bad we were.
