Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!

Not at all.
I don't see why we have to downplay where we are completely.
This time last year we were looking at competing with Liverpool and one disaster of a season doesn't change everything.

Next year the level of expectation from Liverpool will be higher, teams will know better how to play against them and there will be no such pressure at Everton.

I just don't believe the gap is as wide as you seem to believe. How many goals will Salah score next season, I believe he will do well to get half as many as this season.
A new season , a new challenge.
City are the benchmark , not the team that finished fourth.

I wish we weren’t but we’re miles off in my opinion.

The summer could (hopefully does) change a lot but I’m not hopeful given the only bait we potentially have to lure in good quality signings is wages. No Europe and no sign of Champions league which is what most of the quality players ‘demand’. They’re signing strong, athletic and pacy players and we still haven’t got an identity. It’s imperative the new regime come in and establish an identity for us and adjust the squad to reflect.

I’m just sick of the mediocrity and we really need some sort of success. I hate that lot over the park more than ever after the last week.

Some of them are really struggling to deal with their slip back into irrelevance. They’re almost angry that there’s a World Cup on as not only did they lose the final, no one is remotely arsed about discussing how next year will be their year. Every other fan in the work place is all about the World Cup, they’re still trying to tell anyone who will listen how they will push City next season.

They once existed to win trophies, now they only want attention and column inches.

I agree with a lot of what you say, but, credit to Liverpool they gave me the most enjoyable weekend I have had all season, ironically more than Everton have done this year.

Genuinely, I don't think Liverpool are as good as they believe. They have had a very good season, but then so did Leicester.
The Liverpool season has been because of the form of on or two players but mainly Salah. Go back on his scoring record and for somebody who is 26 next month he never ever went remotely close to what he did this season. If his goals dry up, that makes a difference and they finished fourth ahead of both Arsenal and Chelsea who had poor seasons.

I won't talk about us yet because we don't have a manager yet and we don't know who we will sign... which goes back to my original post , but three or four signings could transform our team .

Last season I would agree we were miles off. Liverpool play a high press game and our game was more of a cup-of-horlicks-and-duvet game.
Some contributors on this forum with much more knowledge of Silva than me says he too favours a high press game. If so, and he and Brands work to inject youth and aggression into the squad then I don't think we'll be miles off next season.
I do think we've got quite a lot of real talent. With the right management to unleash it I really believe we'd pleasantly surprise Everton fans.
If a management team can't sell playing for Everton with its future then they couldn't sell anything.

Just need to ensure we don't become embroiled in any more lengthy transfer sagas like the Siggurdson one. That was not only embarrassing but on his form this season we were mullered over the fee. Think we need to harden up and stop being a soft touch when it comes to buying players. Conversely, we seem to get top whack for selling players.

My translator is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried Google Translate and the machine crashed. Perhaps he is an alien? On a serious matter I think the BBC sports website is a disgrace. They still have clips of the wailing and weeping following Real's glorious win over the RS. This is an open opportunity for twisted people to go on replaying and gloating over and over again at our neighbour's misfortune, or rather the plot they say was hatched against them. I am still looking for the petition to sue Ramos so I can pitch my vote (to make him a saint).
