Non League Football

The ground was ok , a very small stand behind one goal, a covered terrace that we stood in and standing around the rest of the pitch. You have to get a train out to Dronfield , 10 minutes from Sheffield and then a 15 minute walk.
All the Everton games being moved has been good to get out and about, I saw Wycombe at Fleetwood a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t look like they were at opposite ends of the table. Rotherham last week in the cup, Widnes v Marine next Saturday and Haringey Borough the day before we play Brentford.
I’m thinking Sutton United the day before Brentford .

I don’t follow it much, but what happened to Notts County ?
Didn’t they get taken over a few years ago and spend a fair bit of money trying to get back up the leagues ?
Assume that just went tits up ?
I honestly couldn't say mate, last time I took any notice of them Sol Campbell was managing and they were supposed to be loaded, what happened after that I don't have a clue

I haven’t been yet, but I know where it is - right by the outlet village. You have to go into York and get a bus out.

The old ground was great, as it was ten mins from the city centre, with sone cracking pubs along the way.
Played several times at the old ground, Bootham Crescent from memory. Superb playing surface. Their reserve side played in the Yorkshire League. I went for trials there when Sam Bartram was manager but I was earning more in my job than they were offering.
The best goalkeeping display I ever saw was when Everton played Charlton Athletic at Goodison. Everton conceded an own goal early on and after that, had 'shot's in' for the rest of the game. Sam Bartram saved everything and we lost 1 - 0. If I close my eyes I can still see it clearly. Eddie Wainwright hit a shot on the volley which was going in the top corner like a rocket. The crowd was roaring 'goal'. Sam Bartram got his fingertips to it and pushed it, via the bar, for a corner.

My son, who lives in Nottingham, used to support County. He started taking grandson when he was old enough and grandson got fed up with them losing all the time and said 'I want to support Everton like my granddad.' So, they have been season ticket holders at Goodison for several years. I spoke to my son yesterday and he said he and grandson had been to watch Notts County yesterday. County won 2 - 0 and recorded the record crowd for the National League, over 12,000.
