Non League Football

Went to one of the local derbies today , Marine 3 v 1 Prescot Cables . Marine dominated the first half , one way traffic to be honest , Cables we’re a bit livelier in the second half but the best team won. Attendance 1181

Superb attendance that, great to see their is support for non league teams.

Loved Marine as an away, great little ground. A couple of time the stewards were pricks but we got that a bit as we (Barrow) had a really strong away following.

13 grounds from finishing the 92 then I’ll be spending a lot more time doing the non league . Though this season ive already visited , guisely, BPA, witton, fylde and Kidderminster. i prefer this type of football all day over going with Everton. though they still have a hold over me haha

I presume BPA is Bradford Park Avenue ? Are they still using the same ground as in their league days ?

I go and watch York City now and again, as my missus is a Yorkie.

I love it, there’s not much difference between the Vanarama and league 2, it’s virtually impossible to get out of non league now, with only one team going up automatically.

Have you been to the new ground yet? I’ve been the old one and will save yorks new one until the weather picks up for a nice day out . I believe it’s hard to get to from the station ?

I haven’t been yet, but I know where it is - right by the outlet village. You have to go into York and get a bus out.

The old ground was great, as it was ten mins from the city centre, with sone cracking pubs along the way.

We had a good drink around the city centre when we went last time .

What was Kidderminster like ?, I’m thinking of going for the FA Cup 4th round game.

My day out yesterday, terrible game finished 0-0

It was ok but I thought it would be better tbh . I went the grimsby cup game . less than a ten minute walk from the ground. If you are hungry I’d suggest the chippy opposite the station it looked very busy before and after . The food at the ground was poor even for non league .

I done Wycombe v pompey yesterday.

what was Sheffield fc like ? is it far from the station ?

The ground was ok , a very small stand behind one goal, a covered terrace that we stood in and standing around the rest of the pitch. You have to get a train out to Dronfield , 10 minutes from Sheffield and then a 15 minute walk.
All the Everton games being moved has been good to get out and about, I saw Wycombe at Fleetwood a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t look like they were at opposite ends of the table. Rotherham last week in the cup, Widnes v Marine next Saturday and Haringey Borough the day before we play Brentford.
