Non League Football

Warrington Town 2 Prescot 1. Town just about deserved the win in what was a scrappy game spoilt by the wind.Keeps us with an outside chance of the play offs. Good to see Peter Clarke still going strong for Cables. He must be 43/44 now.
Summed it up well mate, Cables didn’t really threaten second half :(

Marine 2-2 South Shields
Att: 1476

On the balance of play, probably a very fair result.

South Shields by far the better team in First half, and second half Marine (who are down to bare bones)were excellent at breaking them down.

South Shields top of the league, and their fitness from being full time evident. Marine levelled early on second half before snatching what we all thought was a 93rd minute winner from 16-Year old James Potter.

Ref got 6 mins of added time, but no one seems to know how? Then added a further 90 seconds on, to which Shields equalised. Gutting result, which says just how far we have come.

4 points in 2 from sides topnof league and in playoffs. Onwards and upwards.

Marine 2-1 Chester
Att: 1577

Those Mariners at it again. Think im currently having a chat to @bigjonny on twitter about Tamworth Away.

An early red card for chester (see video)

With big pressure now on McInyre. Marine only able to name 4 subs, and 2 of starting XI cup tied for big Last 16 tie with Tamworth.

16-Year old wizard James Potter slots for second game in a row, with a Chester error at the back letting Lewis Bell in at the death.

Backed massively for relegation, Marine are now 9th, 2 points off playoffs, with a game in hand.

Enjoyment 100 fold greater than BMD.

Roll on Saturday.

2-0 defeat for Warrington at home to Bamber Bridge who were the better team throughout. Only our third defeat since the start of October but I fear it ends any outside hopes we had of reaching the play offs.
Archie Lang scored for BB in this. He left us (Thornton Cleveleys) to sign for them in November.

They are managed by ex Everton / Blackpool player Jamie Milligan.

Good lad is Archie and a very promising young player too. Think he could go higher with the right guidance.

Thornton Cleveleys v Darwen this afternoon for me.

We need to keep winning to make sure we get at least a play off spot.

Ridiculously tight league. We beat the top team away and drew at home with them, amazingly Woolton in 2nd, been on a great run, we won there 5-0 in the cup but lost in the league match.
Play them at home end of February.
