PLUS - I'm sure this common knowledge but ANY transfer fee is paid in installments. Ergo a fee £8m would never be a cheque for £8m today; more like £2m now, then a bit more every few months. if the player is then sold the liability passes from club to club. Quite frequent for clubs to take on repayments to players' former clubs. This was part of the Demba Ba deal, the liability to Hoffenheim passed from West Ham so they can clear an outstanding debt of their books.

True. They've all taken time to shine though, be that pre-season work or time in reserves for the youngsters. This is time I don't think we have at the moment.

Given Moyes' distaste for buying in the transfer window, he will be demanding an instant return from anyone he brings in and puts in the first team.

my 2 cents on this is that i'd prefer him over doyle, just cos he plays in the SPL doesn't automatically make him as crap of the other 95% of the players there, have a sneaky feeling he'll do the biz....
