Spot on. Would have been easy to just show his goals but what's the point as it won't be as enjoyable imo since it's good to have some kinda of story and show that he can miss good chances and be unlucky ect. But that was what I was aiming at showing that people thought he wouldn't be great then he turns out brilliant. (I know he didn't have a rough patch but he did miss some sitters)
