His one on one defending left a lot to be desired for me ! His positioning an
stance seem to let sako go either way ! Just seemed strange !

My impression was pretty much the same. Good energy and signs of quality going forward but pretty poor in defence. He looks a little poor positionally and struggled in the air.

He wasn’t the only one last night that seemed way off the pace but that’s expected. Some nice moments going forwards, he definitely seems more a winger than anything

Thinking that. Very raw but when he put the burners on he left the arsenal player for dead. Decent effort aswell.
Far to easily skipped past though defending.
This is a lets see because if he cant learn as a left back from ashley cole in his corner he never will.

Watching him last night, he had may be one good touch in the entire game. Almost every attack that came to him ended and without a half-decent chance, and defensively he was a disaster, not just because he couldnt keep pace and made poor decisions, but also out of outright laziness or not paying attention. His one good thing, the long ball he took down and got a shot off on doesnt even come close to making up for that. He looked a fraction of the player Mills was. Godfrey would be far better as a backup LB.

I didnt bother watching last night. It was the 1st pre season friendly...remember a few years back when we won 15-0 or something.

Means nothing at all...glorified fitness session.

Whether you win or lose means nothing. Whether an individual player can actually kick a ball means everything. If the lad cant kick a single ball straight or get back on defense when hes been playing for many years and training every day, just because he hasnt played a real match for a month, hes not good.

He wont be in the team next season.

The weak link was at fault for both goals. His run into the box and shot was decent but the lad can not defend

Agreed, as soon as Cornet is in, this lad will be off to a farmers league.
