It is weird how some fans really got a bit of a hard on for the lad based on a few games at the start of 20-21.
FWIW, I liked what I saw but I'm not sure going into this season with him as our back-up to Mykolenko, who has had his own issues, would have been sensible.
Ideal world, I'd have liked KWP from S'ton who the club like, because he can cover both FB roles well, but our money probably can't stretch that far.
If we can get Nkounkou off the books, even if it's another loan with a loan fee until the end of his deal next year, we'll likely be in profit P&L wise because he came on a free.
Of course they may look to extend by another year or two and loan him out and see where he is in 12 months' time, which is what the Vinagre deal allows us to do.

When has he been given a run of games to prove himself
He trains with the first team, has been on loan and as quite clearly had the opportunity to prove himself good enough.
That’s how people make the first team, not because “he hasn’t really been given a shot so throw him in”
