He was born in Egypt. Why was he given British citizenship? Or if he came to work through legitimate means and wasnt known to be a threat, as soon as he started with his little speeches he should have then had that citizenship revoked.

It's not that simple. If you revoke someone's citizenship they're stateless. Where do you send them? The country they were born in aren't just going to welcome them back with open arms. They'll tell us to get ****ed.

Both countries have problems with immigration themselves. As I have said in earlier posts immigration is global phenomenon not a British one. We are not going to put the genie back in the bottle and need to get used to competing for jobs on a global market rather than a local market. I agree that we should not pay benefits to 'economic migrants or illegal immigrants', that' a no-brainer, and it's already established policy.

Same as most other countries, I have two friends who have done this in the US. Both went over on 6 month holiday visas, overstayed and then married an american girl - hey presto!
It's quite funny sitting here as an ex-DWP worker and an ex-CAB advisor (as well as other private sector roles that deal with the issue discussed) and seeing the rampant and quite amazing naivety regarding immigration & benefit laws.
By the by, low level immigrants to England only take jobs English people won't take, such as factory work. That's a fact of life. In fact, it's so true that there are foreign-only employment agencies in areas such as Skelmersdale so that they can fill positions that the English in the area will not take.
Can argue about that as much as you like but it's completely true and I've seen it with my own eyes. For example,

I used to do exactly the kind of work we're talking about here, over 3 years I saw my wages go down by 30p/hour while the number of migrant workers went up to the point there was only me and two other British on the job from a workforce that had been over 90% British 3 years previous. I had friends who would have gladly worked with me, but they were bussing in migrants from Notttingham to Northampton to do the work instead.

Tbh my main gripe with our ridiculous immigration policy is not that they take jobs, as they are contributing to our society, but that the crime levels and ghetto areas that spring up. Not to mention hate preaching and so on so forth.
Most people (normal people I add) who realise how stupid we are with how many and who we let in, could not give a **** about race or even religion. If you contribute to our society and conform with our way of life then there is absolutely no problem. Unfortunatly we go to far the other way and I'd say a huge percentage of our immigrants are here for the wrong reasons.
I've sat in interviews for factory work and cleaning jobs (I used to clean the toilets in kirby jobcentre and there's very few jobs I didn't apply for) and you're completely right that it was mostly non whites or immigrants getting interviewed (or women). Other white males only tended to turn up for the better jobs.
I still think allowing ecomonic migration is a bad idea for a country with huge unemployment levels.
Trouble is, we need the tax take from the migrants. They make a net contribution to the treasury. We've a badly top-heavy population, agewise, and someone needs to pay their pensions.
