NFL 2025 Season

Darnold doesn’t become this player if he stays with the Jets. Frankly I don’t think any one team could have developed him. He needed to move around, have spells as a backup, and have multiple teams try to push the limits of where he could get to. And make no mistake Seattle (and Minnesota) are right on that limit. He led the league in turnovers and without that defense that would have been fatal. But because the have that defense it’s ok to play a bit more high risk, high reward.
Perhaps not, but I think writing off a QB after a season and a half is not the way to go about things.

He started over two seasons worth of games for the Jets and importantly was way worse in season three than he was before. Guys aren’t going to get forever to play bad for the same team.

Passed for around 8000 yards for the Jets in his just over 2 years worth of games, Darnold was not the problem with that jets team, lack of protection from the O-line was the issue. Sacked 98 times in 38 games.

He took 48 sacks on the Vikings!

The truth of Darnold is he’s still a deeply flawed QB and it took many stops and a lot of development simply to get him to a state where a extremely strong defense and a smart coaching staff could leverage his strengths enough to win at this level. So he kinda was the problem on the Jets the same as he was on the Vikings and even is now on the Seahawks, but the Jets weren’t ever going to solve that problem like these better organizations could.

It’s not entirely dissimilar to Jalen Hurts.

As a Jets fan, It's frustrating to see Sam Darnold in the SB, the jets are the laughing stock of the league written off after 2 years in NY and 5 years later starting as favorite in the super bowl... Well done lad win it and get MVP it might just show the Jets owners that patients is required at QB position just when they are moving on from their latest 1 year QB experement.
Just seen that you appear to be moving off your highly rated OC as well. Whats going on over there??

Jets are a car crash.

A worse run club than Everton.

Browns are another car crash.

^This^

It's hard to develop a QB in the league. Very few actually become good and some need a few chances before proving themselves (Mayfield, Darnold) while others just need patience (Hurts, Williams). Some teams are complete cluster fires and will never develop talent without a complete front office overhaul.

Something that hampered the Eagles this season was Siriannis insistence not to turn over the ball.

Eagles finally have their new OC - Packers QB coach Sean Mannion.

Any insights @ToffeeTim? did a sound enough good with GB's quarterbacks by the looks of it? only thing is that this will be his first coordinator/playcalling job so been seeing a lot of skepticism about it generally..
