Well, at which point Hill is pushing 30. I doubt they get rid of him at the end of the coming year either anyway, more likely the season after.

I just dont get the logic, I mean they dont have a hope of taking Buffalo out in their division so why the massive investment in an area that doesnt seem to be that much of a need for them anyway? They will do well to make the playoffs frankly.

Vegas still has the Chiefs as only marginally behind the Bills in the Super Bowl betting, so they're not convinced this has weakened them. They still have the best jockey (Reid) and the best horse (Mahomes)
I burn the chiefs burn to the ground , just because that kopite Jedi Sam Quek follows them.

It'll be interesting because you can throw curveballs now and have a chance of getting away with it. Also doubling Kelce becomes automatic. I really can't believe they did this. I think it could potentially completely shift the power in the AFC and it doesn't really feel like the discussion is at that level.
When you look at it on paper, it makes no sense.

Mahomes already struggles when asked to read a seven- or eight-man coverage. In that scenario he needs MORE viable receiving options, not fewer. Depriving him of the best WR on the roster, the one with whom he's built up something of an understanding... Just flat out strange. They must be about to go after a FA wide receiver really hard.

The Chiefs needed another good wideout when they had Hill in the squad. Now they need two, and every other team in their division is busy getting better. The Chargers and the Raiders will genuinely push the Chiefs this year.

Like who? There is no one remotely close to hills ability.
They'll maybe double dip in the draft, by all accounts this is a very deep WR class

They’ll maybe package the 2 firsts and move up into the top 15 to snag a wideout of choice.

Assume they’ll deal for a proven veteran as well prior to the draft.

While they won’t get anyone near Hill’s class they’ll 100% come out of this giving Mahomes more dangerous options overall than he had last season.

If he’s forced to go underneath due to coverage issues the more weapons the better.

A couple of mock drafts have the Chiefs using both 1st round picks (29 & 30) on WRs. Which ever 2 they are will need to be able to replace Hill’s speed.

No, not necessarily. Mahomes may have actually gone too much ‘off script’ at points due to the threat of Hill. For whatever reason he often forced the ball to Hill with multiple other options running open.

Taking the ‘easier’ possession receiver option may work in his favour. Not as fun to watch though.

It will be interesting to see how the Chiefs adjust without their game changer gone. Defenses can dedicate less energy to coverage.

For me though I'd keep up the 8 in coverage until Mahomes can prove he can beat it.

Wild off season so far, but there are options in the draft that seem like good replacements. In the end, KC was never going to give Tyreek $30 per year, and Miami can only do this because Tua hasn't extended his rookie contract.

I suspect KC is expecting the NFL to jack up the cap this year or very soon, but a lot of weird moves around the NFL right now. In the end, WRs are very replaceable, and probably 3-4 at best on the team needs except for a very small number of players, and I don't Tyreek is in that small number.

From what I can tell NFL teams have 3 key positions (Quarterback, Edge rusher, Tackle) and after that it seems to depend on the scheme. KC has a very tough division and needs to build a win long strategy over a win now. KC now has picks 29, 30, 50, 62, 94, 103, 121, and 135 through the first 4 rounds !! That's two each 1sts, 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, plus four 7ths to add depth.
