Well here’s a stat that has cheered me up a bit

Mahomes passer rating with Hill: 106

They weren't giving the Chiefs that pick.
The Chiefs actually fleeced the dolphins.

It'll be interesting to see what happens this season though. A lot of the solution that got Mahomes back on track at the end of last year was finding Hill and Kelce and relying on their after catch abilities. Now you can double Kelce and have a fighting chance elsewhere.

And fwiw on the balance of last season Mahomes was very very average.

It was always one of the bookies over here’s specials for Kelce and Hill to both score. As you say they only really clicked towards the end of the season. Covid maybe ? I don’t know.
I wanted Chiefs to win purely for financial reasons personally and they were 1/20 in running to beat Bengals.
Awful second half from Mahomes it’s got to be said.
I’m a Packers fan though and i find their business even odder. That combination just worked and Adams is a huge loss.

Utter nonsense from beginning to end.

The numbers prove that Mahomes without Hill shows very little drop off in production.

Looking at it after having thought about it I think the Chiefs have probably improved with the draft picks. I would trade up into the top 15 and get the best receiver available (Williams?) or trade for DK.

The way these contracts are going, you won't be able to afford an elite QB (out of rookie deal) and an elite WR.

But I'd rather have Rodgers and Mahomes than Adams and Hill

That said, I'm a bit worried looking at the packers receiving depth

Watched a thing on Adams to the raiders before on NFL network . He said he grew up a raiders fan so couldn’t turn them down . He played with Carr at Fresno too . Though I doubt that’s what sold it . Sure the $$$ was the main and only real reason

Adams wasn't going to sign the contract so I'm not sure what choice they really had.

I understand that so far there hasn't been a drop off, but most of Hill's missed games were in 2019 when the Chiefs weren't being stopped by anyone. Now teams have plans that have worked and I think it might be a bit different taking out one of the best receivers in the league.

They could try to trade for Lockett. DK won't happen I don't think.
