The point is, it ISN’T a claim. No one even vaguely attached to the club has claimed anything about Usmanov, other than to deny his affiliation.

It’s a rumour that has spread on social media.

So to compare it in any way shape or form to the Fortress Sports Fund is inane.

It has been claimed, not just on social media but by the press. If it's a false claim, then fair enough, it's a false claim. It just means that we can expect a continuation of our mid-table status to continue, and it should really lead to a discontinuation of the claim itself. Everton is not controlled by a man that is wealthier than Abramovich, we are owned by someone that is extremely average when it comes to the owners of Premier League football clubs.

It's not been claimed by anyone reliable in the Press, and not by ANYONE at the club.

So.... nothing like the FSF then.

I’ve moved on from my comparison with the FSF mate, and I’m now stating that us, the fans, should discontinue with the claim / fantasy if it becomes obvious that it’s BS.

But if you want to carry on comparing the FSF blag to the Usmanov claim, they are alike if they both end up being false. They just differ in who is propagating the fantasy.

Just what it'll be apparently

Heard the rumor from a few folks now

These people you consider reliable mate? Assume so like since you’re posting it. Impressive if true like, surely the only way we’re being offered that much in the current climate is if Usmanov is involved in the deal.

If fans on forums stopped talking about everything that's unrealistic or untrue they'd be very quiet places (not that our sponsorship deal would be a terribly reliable indicator of this particular rumour being true or false)

So-so like, if it ends up being wrong - ah well. But, it’s the sort of number thats been thrown around

I agree, they’d also be very quiet if every one agreed with each other. My response to the rumour that our new sponsorship is going to be on a par with Burnley’s is that it would invalidate the readymade excuse that Usmanov is being restricted in investing in Everton because of FFP, and would be a big indicator that he isn’t investing because he doesn’t want to.

It will probably be for an undisclosed value when announced, but people familiar with these markets can likely read between the lines.

I would never expect too much from our commercial team, granted the teams performance makes their task harder to begin with, not to mention the current crisis, but I wouldn't be convinced that we are seeking out opportunities as assertively as we could.

There must be a middle way between unobtainable blue-chip sponsorship and the five-for-a pound, zero reputation betting company sponsorship pool.

Can we announce sponsership via undisclosed. I know we can do with that with transfers. Our kit deal is reportedly double the old one. Our new shirt sponser would hopefully be something similar 15-20m. As opposed to 9m with SportPesa.

I assume the actual money received will have to go in the accounts but that will be dependent on factors like league placings and cup runs, and not available until the accounts are out.

We'll get the gist without knowing for sure - but my hunch is we're only going to get a small percentage increase if at all. Even a 25% increase which isn't modest in relative terms would only bring us up to £12m
