Next shirt sponsor.

Seems to sum up our attitude tbh. Ecstatic to be king of the no-marks.
In what scenario should be getting high sponsorship money than CL regulars? We havent had any on pitch success since 95. Sponsors give more money if you're going to give them more exposure. Given our complete lack of european football and our crap cup showings, the exposure we offer is miles behind the top 6. the RS, Manchester teams, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs have all been in the CL/winning things in recent memory and have much larger global support than we do

Or being realistic that we're not quite there financially to attract a sum they have.

You may be correct, but it's an indicator of us having moved absolutely nowhere, not something to cheer about.

It also seriously brings Usmanov's 'involvement' into questions as well; if he's not even taking up the shirt sponsorship option. It clearly isn't the scary darey FFP rules that are causing him not to invest. It's because he doesn't want to.

The vaccine for Coronavirus will be available before I have finished listing them all, so I'm not even going to bother
Didn't he post a picture of a child's scribble on a bit of paper after the stadium designs were announced and claimed he had known about the design from an inside source before anyone else? lol

The scenario where your owner is supposed to be one of the wealthiest men in the world. That scenario, the one that is looking increasingly blag right now.

I get what you're saying, but it is a holding company. I can't think of any other sponsorships in football like this, although I might be wrong.

He has a list of billion pound companies that he owns, and are also owned by said holding company.

These are the current shirt deals (I think) - if we say go from £9.6m to £30m we're still behind Spurs but does that mean we've moved "absolutely nowhere"?

We have to remember even the Usmanov naming right deposit got scrutinised so I don't see how he can do stadium, stadium name, shirt sponsor and all the rest without the league investigating and us getting bummed.

Agree think the rest of the league would want to screw us over, but really there is no reason they can stop it we do need to close the gap to top 6

Yes, a tripling of the current deal will not be worthy of whinge. A continuation of the type that is being received by Burnley and Southampton via another jarg betting company that nobody has heard of would be, imo.

Evertonians are always so quick to provide an excuse for our owners in advance of there even being a need for an excuse. We make their excuses for them in advance.

If any of our current sponsorships were scrutinised, then they were scrutinised and then AUTHORISED. And the reason they were authorised is because there is absolutely nothing invalid about them.

And nobody has actually been bummed by FFP at all. City have taken themselves to court to deny allegations of fraudulent accounting more than anything else, and they will probably get away with it, and even if they don't, it will be money well spent for them. I'm sure they'd rather be where they are now, rather than having Sportsbet.io sponsoring them and them winning the race to sign players that nobody else is interested in.

Okay so my initial post is fine then:

As long as it's more £££ than all the teams except the bigger 6 I don't care who it is.

And no other club in the league would be operating slyly under two owners (not allowed) which is why I'd be cautious if we suddenly jumped right up that list with a MegaFon shirt sponsorship or whatever and not get bummed for it.

Yes, I can live with a tripling of our current deal even if it means we remain too scared to challenge the top six. I don't think we need to abide by non-existent rules that haven't been set by the top six, and would be invalid rules even if they had. But no, £30 million is fine, £9 million however, is not.

You are panicking about non-existent problems that don't even exist here. Panorama tried to make a deal out of this non-existent issue and it was laughable in the extreme. Moshiri literally laughed at them outside of the Park End. If the top 6 wanted to whinge about Megafon's sponsorship of Everton. LET THEM. They can take us to the the non-existent Court of Nobheads, and we can all have a big laugh at their non-existent court proceedings.

Think you're having a bit of a meltdown/mare today.

I'm incensed by the prospect of the Usmanov connection being nothing much more than a blag, yes.

My points stand tho. Especially about the Panorama nonsense. It would be laughable if one of the top six or the Premier League were to whinge about that.

But it's starting to look like there is indeed nothing for them to even whinge about, because Usmanov isn't just a separate entity in law, he is in fact a separate entity in practice, which would just make it another blag. Another Fortress Sports Fund blag!

Get yourself outside with a beer for a bit.
