It doesn’t sound that outlandish to me, not when the two multi-million pound companies in question already have an established history of multi-million pound trade transactions with each other. And when NEC have already sponsored Everton previously, at top market rate at the time.

In fact, it sounds like an entirely legitimate arrangement to me. True market value

Call it bogus, or a 'blag', or maybe even a 'claim', an unsubstantiated claim, whatever. But it won't be real, not if our sponsorship is in the same bracket as Burnley's.

The point is, it ISN’T a claim. No one even vaguely attached to the club has claimed anything about Usmanov, other than to deny his affiliation.

It’s a rumour that has spread on social media.

So to compare it in any way shape or form to the Fortress Sports Fund is inane.

Just a company connected to USM apparently – the rumor was NEC and then Megafon so, who knows. Don't think it'll be USM themselves, that's for Finch Farm
