We'll finally have a side with the balls to treat the derby like any other game. We will put them to the sword (home and away) and that will drive us to a Top 4 finish.

Sorry i know it's a bit early but i do see a summer transfer thread.

i'm not going to say what if because anyone can say that but just think if the start
was like the second half were we would be now
..

We have got the cash for summer apparently .. majorly concerned about Lukaku and Barkley
but other than that i for one am looking forward hopefully Europe and i even think we could
challenge that/ maybe other silverware for next season.

thoughts? i typed to much i know but i am excited.
Its the most talented group in a long time and a top four challenge is a possibility.

Just on the bit I've bolded, the team did start the season really well. What has happened this season is the fixture list grouped a load of lesser teams together (bar Spurs at home in the first game) hence the really good start, and the second good run has occurred with the second round of fixtures against lesser sides. Eight home wins in a row has been made easier by the way the fixture list has fallen this season. No question the team can deal with teams in the bottom half, it's games against the top half teams that is the test of where the team ranks.

That top 7 will be the top 7 again but in what order I don't know. Getting top 4 is no easy task, never see a repeat of Leicester I don't think not for a long long time anyway.

All depends on summer recruitment from all teams but that top 7 is pretty strong in my opinion.

I'd like to see us win a trophy, we've proven we can beat anyone at home comfortably and that will do in a two legged match, be arsed messing about because before we know it it's been 25 years

We haven't proven we can beat the rats! Total mental block we have with that lot.

Stems from the fans, I hoped our new manager and players would of made difference but it's 100% fans to blame, even in jest fans joke on Facebook about being 'only being beaten 4-0' if X _player is out injured.

I attended the derby at goodison, when the added time come on the was sigh in crowd, the other lot was cheering them on. That reflects in the players more than you can imagine.

in fact the derby is probably one of the most one sided in resent history, even if their players are similar level we will lose as fans turn up beaten already.

Attitude displayed by manager 'proud of performance (lost3-1)' doesn't help and buys into the fact that there's no new era until we win a trophy.

Club is full of mediocrity and exemplified by our board of signings in summer, and fans by their acceptance of 'there's 6 better teams than us lar were improvinnnn 7th is bossss'

Club is exactly at the same stage it is under Moyes and when Lukaku is sold in summer hopefully it's a wake up call that we're miles behind clubs who are similar size (Spurs Chelsea)

If you don't like my points debate me but this is my opinion and some home truths are needed.

You make some good points, I don't think many will disagree. The line at the bottom is unnecessary though, don't be so defensive, nothing wrong with your post.

I agree with your point on the fans, however it is the 11 players on the pitch and the manager that have the biggest impact on the result. The fans are ALWAYS up for the derby when the whistle blows.
It all stems from Moyes and his defeatist attitude. After managing us in 11 derbies he takes a Man U team there and declares "finally I have a team that can win at Anfield". He got beat... again... but that is besides that point.
We are Moshiri's Everton. We need to embrace NSNO. Our aim isn't parity with them, it is to destroy them and make them irrelevant, like a lot of them view us now. The whole mentality needs to change... and it is... slowly.
