Basically,

1st - Distin playing everyone on side, too deep, not following the defensive line 1!
2nd - McGeady playing an awful pass just outside the box !
3rd - Barkley unable to bring the ball down, not even under pressure !!

Pathetic !

Absolutely correct, no manager can account for school boy errors as bad as those two, yes we have an ageing back four but we have had a horror year with injuries to key people at key times.... losing stones was critical.

For me, this year, RM has suffered with injuries, bad bad decisions from officials, RM coming to terms with managing EFC, loss of confidence and bad decision making on the managers behalf.

For people to want him out is narrow minded, he will learn from this, it is evident who is NOT up for the job ( they were last year) and that he has to be able to adjust his game plan... he is a young manager but he has the values, vision and ability to put EFC back.....I for one am gutted and livid at what is going on but lets not get into the cycle of WBA, Crystal Palace, Spurs etc..... sacking is not the answer.... re-grouping, players taking accountability and building a winning mentality back again is what is needed .....

I would personally take the hit on a quality centre half, loan a pacey winger and get Alan Irvine back in the set up behind the scenes..

Tbh if any manager was given time, they would find the correct formula. Liverpool could have sacked rogers season before last and then they almost win the title this year; Pardew (although strangely he decided to leave) could have been sacked this season but give him time and he puts a good run together. Even Moyes could have had the chop with us initially but we gave him all the time he needed and turned us into a top club again.

Roberto has shown how good of a manager he is and he IS the way forward for us.

Because they're in danger of going down and teams often get a bounce when a new guy comes in.

I never believed we had any danger of relegation but with Howard out for 6 weeks and martinez saying the solutions to our problems are internal worries me tbh.

I would also question if he has lost the dressing room or not. If so then we are in big trouble

I remember Moyes nearly lost the dressing room because he was too firm, then softened up and reaped the dividends, maybe Martinez needs to toughen up and grow a pair.

Deary me, do we have to be inside the relegation zone for us to be considered in danger of going down?

Head in sand mentality.
We're not in immediate danger of relegation mate. We're half way through the season and a lot can happen. We will have to get far far worse if 4 of the current bottom 6 are to finish above us in the league. Regardless of how bad we are they are a damn sight worse.

They don't halve state the frigging obvious on sky, made up I cancelled it

37 year old cb in being slow and crap shocker

Maybe Thierry Henry will light your fire again when he introduces himself as Sky's new 'expert'....you never know he may open the show dressed as a Matador ( ironically waving Red Shirt...maybe with a number 8 on it) goading Martinez and slaying him if we were to lose at Hull. I think you'd like that.

Warnock and Irvine have been sacked so why shouldn't Martinez ? It's a results business not a charity

I'd be cool with that approach if it was equally valid for players......we'd be dumping most of the squad, notably Jagielka, Distin and the (New) Great White Hope.....after all it's a results based business. If everyone at the Club who had made mistakes this year was sacked we wouldn't even be able to field a 5-a-side team......I can think of Besic ( despite his 1st touch for the Club v Chelsea) and McCarthy who would be certain starters but nobody else

It is a results business, but not an overnight results business. Let Martinez put his own team together and then make a final judgment. In the mean time why not just be critical where criticism is warranted? That's not the same as going nuclear.
