Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti:
I am happy. The team played well. I am pleased, it was a difficult game. We started really well, Newcastle pushed a lot but we won showing a good performance. The team is improving and that is important.
"The players are trying to adapt, they want to change a lot. The job Duncan Ferguson did was fantastic. The spirit was strong when we arrived.
"Dominic Calvert-Lewin is playing really well. The second goal was a big part of Richarlison. It doesn't matter if you score or not it important to work as a team and they did.
"We want to play games, good games, try to play well. This is our goal. Of course the table is important but we have to focus on the next game. We need to have confidence because we have won. The last result for the team was good. We have to try our play our best."
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, speaking to Sky Sports:
For me personally I am enjoying my football as you can see but for the lads it has been a great period and a great month. We have got that togetherness back in the team.
We are getting back to where we want to be after a below par start. It was not good enough and it was vitally important we turned it around. We wanted first to get into that middle cluster and go beyond that."
On Carlo Ancelotti: "He is a fantastic manager who has worked with great players and for me as a young player it is the best possible experience. I just have to be like a sponge and take it all in."
On his goals: "i am just happy to hit the back of the net. That is what I am there to do. The work doesn't stop for me now."
