Newcastle fans Vs Mike Ashley

The Geordies, and to an extent the Arsenal fans given today's news, need to get a grip on reality and look down the leagues to see what a truly evil owner looks like. Even if Ashley doesn't give up his ownership or Kroenke does take power from the AST, at least those clubs will still have an identity, make money from TV rights and Sponsorships and merchandise and ticket sales to keep the clubs going for years unlike what is happening down in Blackpool with the Oystons stripping everything out the club, having the manager pay for training facilities because their own isn't up to par then forcing the poor guy to resign only one game into the season and buying his silence to maintain standards

Gashley is awful tbf. Newcastle are just a glorified advertising vehicle for him. Although I agree that he's not as bad as the Oystons or, G-d forbid, Venky's. Anyone who moans about Kenwright and thinks he's the owner from hell should read up on what those two showers did to Blackpool and Blackburn.

Rafael Benitez’s mood is said to be darkening by the minute after he has been thwarted in repeated attempts to reinforce Newcastle’s squad.

A bad moment came when Swansea rejected a bid for Federico Fernandez, apparently well below their £10m validation. Benitez, of course, worked with the Argentinian centre half at Napoli.

Better news is that the deal could still be resurrected and a compromise reached but Newcastle’s manager is resigned to making do without the No 10/extra forward he craved and has also been frustrated in attempts to sign cut price left-back cover for Paul Dummett.

He wanted Stoke left-back Erik Pieters, among others, but the St James’ Park board told him Pieters and the other candidates did not fit their “profile”. Newcastle like to sign players aged 26 and under with decent sell-on potential. Could be an interesting press conference tomorrow.

Mike Ashley's just spent £90m to buy House of Fraser - and we moan about the Arteta money!
Add to that, it was bought out with £90m of cash. He simply doesn't want to spend any more money on the club while being unwilling to lower his asking price.

The worse their demise becomes under Ashley the happier I will be, as I truly dislike Newcastle! We can only hope Rafael goes soon as he's their saving grace.

[Poor language removed] clubs like them always seem to fall on their feet though - see Kopites, Wist Ham, Chelsea etc.
