New Healthy Start

its the first morning it has done that though for some odd reason? Im eating it at like 7am as well so that is a good 6 hours between that and my lunch.

Perhaps my appetite is starting to drop with the less intake? I know the only time i want to eat anything genuinely unhealthy is when i am starving like.

No Ash, it's the Porridge. It fills you up properly and is a slow release food, so it takes ages to digest.

It's good for lowering cholesterol too, plus keeps you regular.

When I was a student, we lived on porridge and unrefined brown sugar, as it wa sh1t cheap, filled you up all day and healthy.

It's a king of foods mate.

Were you 13 1/2 for a long period of time? I'd guess then that when you reach either that mark or close to it you'll find it tricky. From my personal experience, I've been 11st for about 5 years now, and it isn't terribly keen on deviating from there, whether I over or under eat.
it was my old fat weight if that makes sense. I'm talking going back 9 years ago now, but it was the time i added a few extra pounds. my healthy weight is a lot lower but then for me to be that weight i would be skin and bones and probably not healthy in that regard either. So that is why the 14 stone target is there right now, 14 stone by december, which is roughly 1 stone 6 to lose in 2 months, so only 2.5 pounds a week (what i lost today!) to hit that target. Then anything beyond that by december is the bonus here. Just fitting into smaller pants will be a bloody brilliant result!

It isn;t about getting into shape, it is about significantly dropping my weight. I don't care if i am ripped or not, just be nice not to think i will break the trampoline for being too heavy lol

yeah, only reason why i started eating porridge was because it was suggested on this thread many pages ago. same as not skipping breakfast.

like this monring the porridge was horrible but still ate it. When i get paid i am investing in blue and rasberries lol

Aye I get you. I wouldn't worry too much about getting to your 'healthy weight' right now as just the act of getting down to 14st will decrease stress on your organs and body in general which is a great result, you'll live longer and what better reason is there to do anything.

Porridge is bland by itself, but you can add loads of things to make it nice :

Honey, unrefined brown sugar, bananas, chopped fruit etc etc

Use your imagination you mad man

a lot of my meals so revolve around veg as it mate or at least i try to do that. The subway salads thing is not through choice, been making sure i get my lunches in at the weekend to get around this. But generally subway salads lost me 4 pounds the week before so they can't be too evil? lol Myfitnesspal app on my phone told me a tuna salad was high in fat though which suprised me greatly so yeah, not going to make them a choice unless it is bread or just salad.

In terms of insanity, i didn't get a check up before hand no. admittedly it is hard for me right now, probably more than normal. but generally i do a advanced Tae bo workout at least once a week which is around 50 or more minutes, plus any DDP yoga i can fit in so that is the range i am currently following. could be going for a job once a week as well soon potentially, not that i want to haha.

but yeah, i'll check those stuff out mate. always interested in suggestions. Right now my meals i try to make healthy, and if i cant do that i only eat half a plateful instead. so far this has been working for me because it changes my concious away from unhealthy meals to healther ones by default. My shopping lists are with healthy food in mind so yeah, it is working to change the mind set.

but for the exercise, what draws me to the tae bo and ddp yoga is that it feels more masculine. I don't feel as silly as say doing a women orientated program, and the insanity i wouldn't do in the house, but 30 minutes on a friday night is just something i can commit to and i know it will have some good to me

Oh I had to admit I sort of chuckled every time I read Subway-salad :D. I would really recommend you switching training programs, not dying is boss and all. I've participated in the thirty day shred; it really isn't that bad you see loads of women in skimpy clothes bending over and such. Ask your partner to join you if you're embarrassed or such. Maybe than you can say you're doing it for her; while preserving your alpha male creds:p. And quite possibly working out together often ends in sex.

It's good you're starting to shop more healthy.

Oh you know that there are good and bad fats? Those in Tuna are good, equally those in nuts...

Admittedly havent looked into good and bad fats no mate. Looked into the carbs part a little which is why i limit the amount of potato i eat in a week along with the others.

in terms of working out over 30 days, i cant guarantee when i will be working out. Some nights baby could be in bed early, others she has decided to pass out at half 4 and as such is awake til all hours. we avoid it when we can but travelling it is hard to wake her up lol But yeah, that is why i work out when i can rather than do a routine. Now after todays weigh in i know i have to do the workouts which is much better for me mentally as i know i have to shift those 2.5 pounds a week from now until november and pushing myself could well make that process a bit quicker.

If it works for you then by all means keep it up, especially if its for health reasons. I've heard rather good things about intermittent fasting too actually, like eating much less one day of the week than the other days. Ignoring the scientific jargon it allegedly keeps your body on its toes and jolts it into action a bit, I just hate feeling hungry so haven't quite got round to trying it yet.

It really isn't that hard. You get used to it. Giving up sugar is much harder. You head hurts like hell for a whole week.

I say you should try and give it a go. Do a mild form; not the crazy don't eat for 24 hours variety or such. I struggle with anxiety and stress from time to time and it really works wonders for it. Plus I've noticed that I gain muscle easier, and lose fat faster.
