New Everton Stadium

The pre-season friendly they have booked will go ahead, simply because it needs to as the third test event
If I understand correctly the third ( and final) test event is to be with the ground fully open and as close to capacity as they can get .?
If the ground is not ready then the test event cannot take place and will have to be postponed.
If it goes ahead as planned then ( subject to passing the test ) the ground will be ready for the start of the season .

I should clarify, (1) I'm less worried about BMD opening as a venue and being safe for people to attend, although (2) there's surely a lot of useful information I don't know. I'm really just worried that so much stuff won't be open when the ground opens for PL play. They've got to get locker (changing) rooms, media areas, basic security facilities, and one or two food/shop areas open to host 52k attendees, but some of the lounges, etc., could easily be delayed until end of the calendar year. It will still be amazing, but no less disappointing if it's not fully open.

Chill your beans, everything is fine

Luton did it last season. Think they played the first four or five games away, then caught up the home games. Think they played four home games in a row.

It should balance out. The only issue I can see is if we need to re-schedule fixtures. It will be tight finding dates for this due to the amount of international fixtures for the World Cup.

Is everyone forgetting our lovely neighbours had to move a few games away when the big stand was built?

There’s no way the lounges will be delayed for that long surely? People will be paying very good money for them and it’ll cost quite a bit for the club to refund them I’d imagine

Too much to say here and it's speculation since I've not seen the inside of the building and despite repeated requests by the good people of GOT, LOR and the other builders have not submitted their construction schedules for public comment. But here are a few important ideas to keep in mind:

Delays are always longer than predicted, especially when they already exist

Problems create consequences in sequence; just like a bottleneck on roads cause problems further down the road, a problem with your construction timeline (subcontractor availability, shipping delay, etc) always creates more problems later

Lounges are probably the least important item* to deliver; maybe that's why they aren't finished yet, because important items have been focused on, but these will certainly be the last items delivered. *Maybe offices are least important, but they're both at the bottom of the list of what has to be working to host a football match.

The first match is less than 3 months away; that's an extremely quick timeline even for refurbishing an existing restaurant, but these aren't existing. Everything has to be installed new, inspected and certificated for safety, etc (or whatever local regulations require), and this has to be repeated for multiple venues (6 lounges total?). That's a lot of work in a short time period. Unless what's being reported is entirely incorrect (which is possible), delivering 6 venues from nothing to complete and functional in less than 3 months would be a spectacular result.

I've mentioned it numerous times and the other lad got ridiculed for it despite myself posting a photo.

They would have shown them off by now.

Whether it's ready on time or not the club have been very proud to post the externals but not the internals.
