New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I am not joking here: literally 5 seconds after kick-off Grim snarled "For f sake Everton, it's only Burnley!"

This goes on for 90 minutes every game, totally negative comments from guys who think being fans since 1966 gives them a pass. So draining.

We heard them discussing other seats, so we are all praying they move (at the 1st game they moaned "These seats are too high up!". What did they expect in UPPER south?)
Christ

I need a seat far lower down. Row 56 is doing my knees in at age 70!
I'd say keep going... It'll be doing your ticker good!

My parents are a similar age, one has stopped any form of physical exercise and their health has plummeted... The other still as fit as a fiddle and goes hiking regularly etc. I'm convinced this difference is due to one carrying on with all the activity

Yup. You're ready for the back of the shovel the day you stop moving.

It's not my ticker - It's my bloody arl knees!!

Same here matey. Really think the midweek games has had a slightly negative impact on peoples opinions to the HDS.

more than slightly id say

it was an absolute bugger of a run. 5 midweek games in winter at home on the spin

used to get around 1-2 home games in the league a year at night. one might be in august, another might be rearranged for april or may because of a cup clash

if they had those new fa cup rules earlier we wouldnt have got the calvert lewin derby or the palace game as spring midweek games as both were rearranged due to cup ties. they would have taken place in november or february at night

Going back again to the accessibility platform debate: did anyone notice last night that the Spurs home end has a couple of rows at the middle section almost completely given over to accessibility platforms - located just under the middle shelf of their home end?

It got me thinking whether this was a good thing or bad thing. Good I suppose in the sense that there's a visual integrity to the home end that gives more of an unbroken 'wall' look to it; bad in the sense that there's a slight niggling feeling that the disabled are a bit tucked away and kept out of view.

Anyway, I think this debate will run and run at the Bramley Moore Stadium until someone has the sense at that club to pick up a couple of hundred tins of blue paint and do the sensible thing.
In the original designs the disabled section for the south stand was supposed to be in a similar position to spurs, but they moved it presumably due to the safe standing lower/seated upper change or for cost saving. Agree I think more could have been done design wise to better integrate these positions but it's good that they have included as much access for disabled supporters as possible. Bit of blue paint on those concrete back walls and on the grey railings will improve the look of the whole ground ten-fold.

Can't remember where I read it but I'm sure it has the most wheelchair access availability of any Premier League stadium. I did count them once so I'll see if I can dig out that information

Defo.

The club certainly couldn't reconfigure it all now anyway. That'd look terrible - like they're saying the disabled are an issue.

As you say, though: more work needs to be done on all areas of the ground to stamp out the horrible visual effect of concrete.
