New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

30'000 people on the waiting list and a few hundred tickets on the resale aren't getting touched. We've only played a handful of games so they mustn't want to go that much. A season ticket holder spent the best part of a grand 8/9 months in advance not knowing the the fixtures, dates, kick off times or what life would be throwing at them by the time the season started. Season ticket holders aren't the problem. @SJB

If the STH is over 65 ( like me ) and misses a few games , the club will benefit by re-selling the ticket. This season , unfortunately through poor health ,I have had to miss 3 games already , I get £35 from re-sale and the club sell it on for £65. From listing my seat to getting a ''ping '' to say it's sold takes a matter of minutes. There is high demand atm but not sure how long this will last with the ever changing ko dates.

It's all Sky's fault. Those STH's who've followed us through thick and thin for many years never expected a Wednesday night game this season. Utter woke nonsense, only there to please the tv companies. I mean, since when was every game not on a Saturday at 3pm? Game's gone.

The season ticket faff about when you can’t go and the way the club/owners have handled it has really grinded my gears.

It’s akin to scalping, making people have to buy memberships etc and join ballots, no wonder there are empty seats all over the gaff.

I know they are only doing what every other team does, but that’s not really a valid excuse or reason, as I’ve already paid for the ticket - it no longer belongs to the club to tell me who should have it or who I can give/sell it to.
Not a fan of it, but by the same token we’ve been desperate to improve the clubs finances and this scheme is a tap in for the owners really.
Obviously until those increased revenues transform into success on the pitch, it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but if results and ultimately silverware come from it there will be less noise about it imo. Plus demand will increase.

O/C that leads to another argument about core fans being priced out, but that’s for another time.

The club resells your ticket at the going rate instead of selling it to you at the discounted rate for a) being over 65 b) making the commitment to buy a season ticket and fill that seat for every home game. The party not sticking to their part of the deal here is you, you should be grateful that the club offers you a safe and secure avenue to resell your ticket and not snipe at them for "benefitting."

Is the stadium money going into the club to the owners? More likely it's to a stadium management company hired to sweat the stadium and hand over the cash to creditors to pay off interest on the debt for the stadium.

I dont see the owners being involved in any way other than to maybe sign off on players. They're here to increase the value of the club via PL stability and improved position on the pitch and sell it on.

It'll need a takoever of colossal proportions before we see cash generated by this stadium flowing back into the club.

What a pompous reply. a) . I would go the game if I could , I cited poor health .b) I did not snipe at the club for benefitting ,it's a statement of fact. It's good that they do benefit.

No. Going to every game by buying tickets through the resale site is massively more expensive than buying a season ticket.
It’s not massively. You can get a ticket on the resale for £58 a game. Obviously, it’s a little more, but it’s not crazy more more.

Maybe, but the whole of Everton’s commercial performance needed a long over due revamp. This is just part of it, time will tell how much of what would so far seem to have been a significant commercial jump makes into the playing squad and how much goes to debt or into TFG’s skyrocket.

In my view, the issue with tickets;

1. Paid, seasonal membership. It's a barrier. We cant, and shouldn't ignore casual fans;

2. Digital tickets. Another big barrier. This, and the paid membership element has meant I've had empty seats at Hill Dickinson this season - it never happened at Goodison. There would always be someone I could pass a physical ticket. A lot of fans don't know how to pass their ticket on, the gent next to me is an OAP and was asking me how I give my ticket to someone the previous game. He didnt have a clue and I dont think he ever will bother trying to learn it.

3. Well too many late midweek games. The next 5 league games are all Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night. Nightmare for those travelling in, work, kids.

4. Travel infrastructure. Large proportion of fans are struggling with it. There's some who 'CBA', but plenty, literally struggling to cope with mobility. This has meant a big undercurrent of fans knocking games on the head for the likes of tonight.

I wonder if introducing a system where STH's are only allowed to sell a certain number of matches a year would help - it might weed out a lot of the STH's who want to cherry pick the best games to go to whilst selling tickets for the less popular games.

Might get a lot more fans who want to/are able to go to nearly every home game the season tickets they're sitting on a waiting list to get.

Isn't that what United and city do? If you can't make a certain number of games your ticket is taken off you.

My mate has a season tickets in someone else's name and he only goes the big games.

Sigh. It's reasonable to expect a decent chunk of home games to be Sat at 3pm. What that 'decent chunk' should be is up for debate, but so far we've had 3. There are only 4 future games slated for that slot too, and the derby will most certainly be moved, plus one or both of the games vs Chelsea and Man City.

So that leaves 4 (or maybe 5) home games on a Saturday at 3 in the entire season, out of 19.

So yes, it's purely to please tv companies, and the twice-shifted Arsenal game is evidence that fans are an afterthought.

Not sure about City but I think at United STH's can resell their ticket 6 times each season before it's deemed they're not someone who wishes/is able to attend most home matches and their heavily discounted season ticket is revoked for the following season and someone on the waiting list gets their turn.
