New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Can anyone tell me if the lower south stand is as steep as the upper south, I’ve a mate and his wife coming down from Sunderland and I’ve managed to get 3 tkts for lower south, but he’s not to cleaver on his feet so hoping the lower is not as steep as the upper south.

It depends which row, it may not look like it but it's kind of banana shaped. from halfway up it's the same or not far off from the upper.

It's still a steep stand regardless though it's just to what extreme. If you are row 10 or below it's not a huge ask to walk up and down.

Thanks for that info, my mate will just have to suck it up if he wants to see the game. To be fair he’s a determined bugger doesn’t let many things get him down.

Not much in it...

Taking a few weeks break from going the game. Last one I went to was Arsenal and was disgusted by some xenophobic chanting by supporters around me. Also fed of of the same said people shouting abuse at Moyes and McNeil.

To be honest I haven't enjoyed the match going experience this season and will be looking for a seat transfer in the summer.
That’s a real shame. I know there have always been nobheads, but I can’t help but think that people sitting with the same people - for years in many cases - created a community that was, in some ways, self policing. Neighbours looking out for each other sort of thing. And until those bonds build up again, till people experience great goals and moments together, till they get to know a little bit about those around them, even just enough to nod hello, there are some who will behave in a different way than they used to and still do elsewhere. It’ll definitely come, but it’ll take time to be less in their own heads and lose themselves as part of the whole once more - which is the best bit of going the game isn’t it?

Absolutely. It was always part of the ritual to catch up with your neighbouring supporters before the game, we knew about each other on a personal level and would ask how they were and family members etc. Like you say it will probably take time but at the moment I'm surrounded by a lot of anger even when we are doing quite well.

Can you give more details on this please?

I've kept in touch with some of my old 'neighbours ' and we've met up on the concourse. Also my new 'neighbours ' are decent and that friendship will only improve over time.

If you’re in the lower south you’re going to be standing all game

Is your mate ok with that?
