New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

…..my first visit today, I wanted it to be a league game and my son downloaded his Club View ST onto Mrs Eggs mobile and it worked a treat.

I was on my lonesome, got there early to take a few pics of my ‘Everton Way brick’, sitting neatly between Sheedy and Bracewell. I’m in such wonderful company.

Getting in was easy but it’s a hike up those stairs. Like Sherpa Tensing, I passed an old bloke who was younger than me who stopped for a rest half-way up. My son recommended the pie, so I got a chicken pie and coffee but it was wasteful because I’d had a hearty full English before I left home. Anyway, the couple of bites of pie was ok, the half cup of coffee similar.

I took my seat, more stairs to row 57, calfs like Grealish when I finally sat down but it’s a proper footy stadium. Really noisy when it’s noisy, quiet when it’s quiet.

I actually think that ground will get better with age. It’ll form its identity over time. Things will be added, bits taken away, stairs and rails softened with traffic. It’s great, it’ll be greater.

Imagine how many there would be if we’d gone 60k plus.

Would never fill that many given our form over the last 25 years unfortunately. One day maybe (hopefully) if start performing again.
Or they could let the fans who want a ticket to buy one for less than £100. If tickets were priced at £50 for adults, £35 for kids, for example, wed shift 60k no problem. There's loads of pent up demand, they've just got the systems for ticket purchasing and, to a lesser degree, the price point wrong.

It was the East Upper. Back few rows of Club View. I’d guess a couple of hundred empty at least. Weird.
Those two blocks were reserved by the club from when season tickets first went on sale. When club view sold out they released another 50 or so seats but still kept the rest. I presume they are for seat unique and just not selling at the prices they are asking.

First time it really felt like home today. That angry 2nd half was glorious.

Also, we've got the train to the last 2 games and have to say that it's definitely the best way to get to and from the stadium if you're Wirral based. Sandhills is very well managed, way better than the lime Street soccer bus.

Also also, the fish and chips from the Mr Chows van in the plaza was cracking. Expensive but cracking.
