New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

FFP says different my friend.

Since when has twitter comment become gospel ?
We all have realised that regarding transfers it is nonsense, why should this be any different ?

This is why Elstone needs to buck his ideas up

He also noted that any new stadium is unlikely to generate a huge increase in revenue for the Club. Indeed the value is considered marginal but what is important is the future proofing that a new stadium will bring.

What does he mean 'huge' even a 10% increase is big to this club as its underperformed in commercial income.

Even their future predictions aren't aspirational. Of course it won't provide much revenue by itself, but if we got bought by a new owner on the back of having a new ground and we made champions league and won trophies do they not think attendance, corporate visitors, hospitality, match day takings wouldn't all go up? Of course they would.

Shame our board can only think of a future where Everton are 7th though.

So in the relevant part of the minutes Elstone starts with saying that they want to submit a planning application in 2015, then when asked later to clarify how long it would take to submit a planning application states 9 months , err after the go ahead is given. This is our CEO. We're doomed to forever wander the lands of mid-table incompetency aren't we?

So my priority voucher for a seat in a new stadium is useless then ?

I am EXTREMELY disappointed reading those meeting minutes.

Those projections on future revenue for the club and his use of the word not being 'huge' are completely misleading.

Any additional revenue is important to the club. Not just short term but in a 10 year scale.

There will not be debts for ever to pay off.

What I think is that this commercial management are too much in the here and now and aren't thinking strategically.

You can't boost revenue (excluding TV money) and total revenue > £150 to £200 million if the club isn't developing ALL revenue streams.

£12 million per season over a 5 to 10 year scale is a HUGE increase in revenue. It all adds up.

Plus that is just the projected now. When you start earning more money generally those have spin-off benefits due to the higher profile and better facilities of the club.
Businesses want to get involved.

This is known as hub-economics.

I'm thoroughly annoyed reading those minutes. Talk about commercially clueless.

Just get the stadium built FFS.

0.5% base-interest rates and we're wasting time again.

"What is certain is we need to be ‘on top of our game’ at all aspects of funding.”

From the feller who's overseen possibly THE most stunted commercial performance of any club in the PL.

Bottom line: you're not getting a new ground until some mugs pay for it.

How this lot haven't been run out of town getting battered with sticks years ago amazes me. They are pathetic.

How dare you mock the deal with Kit bag

£30M over 10 years.

Pure genius. A deal he cobbled together because he thought Kirkby was nailed on and they wanted to prove the club had cash in hand to put down as part of their end of funding. It didn't come off and then we live with the deal that'll probably cost Everton about another £30M over the course of the decade that Elstone signed them up to...and leather face keeps his job.

You couldn't make it up. Utter clowns.

I am reading that article differently it seems......
Not being a smart arse, just curious what way you're reading it.
I see it as 'we'd love to build a stadium if we could find someone to pay for it' and who says something like "We’ve been slowed by the understandable desire to ‘dot every i and cross every t’." Thats akin to saying 'we'd be flying if we could cut a load of corners building a stadium'.
