New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Yep.

He's killed all his credibility in one fell swoop by declaring that he thinks we don't need a new stadium.

We absolutely blatantly do. We've sold out more games this season than for any season since the 1980s. Some of that is down to the high number of season tickets but the demand for the club has clearly grown.

Yes we need more corporate boxes - in A NEW STADIUM!

It's hard to see what he's logically saying here: he's emphasising more corporate boxes at Goodison and leaving the rest of the stadium 'as is'. Basically the 'Annexe' plan from a few years back. But how attractive can Everton be to a corporate clientele he envisions us being able to cash in on? It sounds like pie in the sky.

We need a new stadium. The success of increasing revenue for Arsenal was IMO mainly due to have a new modern stadium with a bigger capacity and amazing infrastructure for everyone, these corporate boxes included. Almost nobody would want to go to a corporate box in Goodison, not many people want to make a visit to the last century.

Oh no.... no show without Punch:

Dave Kelly from the Blue Union is saying he agrees Eveton don't need a new stadium and that Goodison should be redeveloped.
"I think Walton Hall Park is probably as ill advises as Kirkby was. My concern is that Liverpool Council, Everton in the Community and Liverpool Homes..are not the ideal partners financially"

Great, so now we've got another plan being 'dumped' on.

And it begins.

How can this club ever be expected to grow if we never take a chance on something?

Constant inertia.... they've already said that Kenwright will never sell. We need to move forward, with him if need be.

The point he is making (a valid one, I think) is not that he doesn't want a new stadium gifted by a fairy godmother (or like West Ham and Man City?) but that the costs involved in building a new stadium would not increase the revenue enough to justify them. And he's probably right about the working class nature of the club and the lack of big business interest in corporate boxes.

Dave Kelly is closer to the mark though: a complete Goodison revamp is required.

Beardwood's idea of revamping the Main Stand (I take it it to be) with some sky boxes or whatever is a bit half baked...to say the least.

The thing is though, a brand new stadium with a large capacity would attract big business and corporate sponsors.
