New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

New"Metro mayor"Steve Rotherham, big RS Eggs,he is my bugbear on this:(
It's not just a stadium though, it's an entire redevelopment of a part of the City that's been left behind. The inevitable extra tourist dollar means that no local politician will ever try to put the breaks on this scheme.

I suspect their career plans far outweigh their allegiance to any football club.

But what a disappointing way to get such information into the public domain. Via a footnote on an annual report. Yes there's reports of Meis designing a stadium, yes there's been photos of Mosh on the waterfront, but still none of that is concrete explicit evidence of our chosen site. It'd be a dreadful shame if confirmation were to come out in such an indirect way.
Given how the site visit was stage managed, you would expect that the announcement will be similarly showbiz.

I was pondering how in recent years the AGM has been a depressing affair with poor financial results, and prospects, no matter how Elstone tried to spin. To have an imminent one that will confirm our stadium plans and also our solid financial footing is what we have been dreaming of for years. I accept that things will take time but when we compare this AGM against even last years, the progress is immense.

I'm not repeating my earlier link to the story but I mentioned here a few weeks back that the new proposed AFC Wimbledon stadium back in Merton will not be called in by the Sec.of State, who said in his letter to the club that it was govt policy to allow local leaders make the decisions wherever possible, reflecting the desires of the community blah blah.

Like the way the government didn't call in the fracking applications in Lancashire after local council rejected those ?!

I don't know if it means anything at all, but there were security guards at the Bramley Moore site today, I have to pass it twice a day, I tried looking to see if I could see anything, all I can report is that there were a number of people inside the site wearing high visibility vests and 2 security guards on the gate. Probably nothing Everton related but it made me sit up straight when I passed by this morning.

Probably got wind of some dodgy looking fella who keeps driving past every day eyeballing the site.
