New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Good morning all,

Went to Wembley last night with one of my boys. First visit in some time (sadly).

I thought I’d write and say that it made me realise how good our stadium is. It felt like I was miles away from the pitch at Wembley and even at the beginning when the atmosphere should have been loud it was very underwhelming.

Also with the extra seats I was surrounded by fans taking photos of themselves throughout the game, constantly talking about anything other than football and I was up and down like a jockeys elbow whilst people were doing all of the above.

Our stadium is a proper football stadium in a proper football city where its size means in the majority people are there to support our team and watch the footy.
Agree. See also the Emirates and Etihad. Both presumably named because they are as atmospheric as an airport departure lounge.

Off to Wembley tomorrow. I'm certainly not expecting anything in terms of atmosphere. It was electric for the '09 semi final, but that's more due to our fans than the stadium. Always felt flat for football though, but it's not bad for stadium gigs.

view is superb, but as for the 3 hours before, you have to que up well before that to get a seat, they have added more but last game, chelsea people are still sitting on the floor and eating food off wheely bins, for me £200 a game just isnt value for money, I will have to pay for next 2 years but wont be doing many games, will just pick and choose

Is that for an upper or lower tier seat? A mate of mine sits on a seat next to one of the corporate sectons and chats with a bloke across the dividing wall. This fella said he jumped on the corporate to mainly get off the waiting list. He's enjoying no better view really, and while the facilities are good downstairs, he says it's largely wasted on him as he only has 4-5 pints on a matchday and he could have that for £30 or less in town. He's already asking about changing to General admission season ticket at the first opportunity.

I went to the Bernabeu last weekend....and after seeing our fans moan about the gray, and too many steps....Real Madrid, the biggest club on the planet is exactly the same.

In reality....all the little things just don't matter, get things right on the pitch, and people forget about these tiny little gripes.

Haven't been since its revamp was completed, but hoping to go next week. Been a few times over the past 40yrs and watched its transformation. Tbh... it was gobsmacking even the first time, and there was some terracing there then. Fantastic stadium!

It'd be interesting to find out how he feels about the stadium being projected against the backdrop of a sewage plant rather than the city of Liverpool skyline he'd envisaged.

It is amazing mate, we loved it.

Another one of them where its way bigger when go inside, than what it looks outside.

Went the San Siro 4/5 weeks ago...and that place is a monster from outside...so imposing.

Pretty much all stadiums you can see bare concrete, I've never understood why we want to paint it all blue. There are a few bits that could be changed, like the back walls of the accessible areas due to their prominent positions and perhaps chuck another LED hoarding above the proper posh seats in the West stand and the accessible half way up on the East. It shouldn't make or break anyone's experience though.
