Considering their unpopularity at Roma, I can’t imagine they’ll want our fanbase to turn against them after a year and a half… perhaps they will pull the trigger to keep us on side?

That’s true, although there are 2 ways to make money. One is to be ambitious and push for Champions league - like Villa, and the other is to just plod along in the Prem and hope values keep going up.

And I suspect we are the latter.

We'll see what they look to do. Its only their first full season.

Of course but it's just our luck that is all they interested in. Would love to see them take more of an interest in their asset other than financially. Going to the odd game to see how their asset is doing and pushing their management and staff to do better would be a good start and would eventually make them even more money. There are not many buyers in the world that don't do at least that as a bare minimum with a close to a billion pound asset.

They can be as ambitious as they want the issue is always going to be getting Moyes to go along with it.

I agree. If you are going to make such a huge investment to buy a Premier League Football team, why not get the full experience and try to enjoy the "perks" of ownership? Lots of billionaires buy these teams to move in different circles and add to their public profile.
If its simply 100% about the busines aspect of it ( which seems to be the recent American model and is ironic in itself), could have just invested in a few AI server farms and saved us all the anguish. Maybe thats the plan, plenty of water in the Mersey, maybe the Hill-Dick is just a big AI server farm with a football pitch on top of it for aesthetics

Not asking them to be here weekly just at least show us the same respect they show Roma.

Comfortably mid-table.
A manager that won't ask for too much and will help "manage expectations".
Increased revenue from ticket prices and sponsorship, without massive outlay on players.

I'd say the club is exactly where they want us to be. Just not where the fans want.

They will only spend what the club makes and when they do sell up it will be for a very heft profit without doing a lot.
