They do the same for ice hockey, it's an exhibition match, don't think they need the roof. They played college basketball games on an aircraft carrier (why, I don't know).

People used to moan about how we were run commercially under the old board, now we seems we have a new commercial partner on a weekly basis and people aren’t happy as they should be focusing on the team. Without this increased revenue, we wouldn’t be able to make progress on the pitch. Success isn’t going to happen overnight. We have to show patience. For gods sake if there’s one set of fans thats shown patience it’s us!

Ive no issue at all with what the owners are doing. We have got professionals on board now, who are looking to maximise every commercial opportunity available to them. If they want rugby and NBA basketball at the stadium, that’s fine by me. It’s doesn’t affect us as fans.
I can foresee the magic weekend rugby league matches becoming a regular feature at our ground in the coming years. It’s far easier for the likes of Leeds, Warrington, Wigan etc to come to Liverpool than Newcastle.

Of course our match day income will go through the roof, but I think it will be really telling in our next set of accounts, just how much more money has been raised through our commercial activity.
I get the impression that they really want to tap into the American market. The RS, United and Arsenal have already exhausted the Asian market. Having American owners and people like Jason Kidd, will only help our cause in the US. It’s just a pity we don’t have a modern day Landon Donovan playing for us, he’d be utilised far better commercially to build our fanbase, than the wasted opportunity we had under Kenwright et al.
