I'd do the 4 loans, after all we dont 'need' a huge number of starters.

Then i'd probably go for Tagliafico & Walker on frees. Simply because we already have Mykolenko & O'Brien so we wont be losing anything from this season.

Thats 6 players signed for 0 transfer fees.

Then of course I'd be looking at the obvious 3 positions at CM, RW & CF.

Anything over, i'd be trying for a young CB.

However, there are of course exceptions to this. Such as if a top notch u23 full back became available for an attainable fee.

I wonder who Moyes was watching in the US in the Benfica game. Carreras for Benfica is class and was going to Madrid but they wont pay the £35mil fee.

Who knows?
In broad terms I agree with that strategy Zat but I'm far from sure that I'd want Kyle Walker, free or not , at the club.

I think we can do better and less disruptive on a free .

"Following a comprehensive recruitment process, the Club has appointed Nick Cox as Technical Director, James Smith as Director of Scouting and Recruitment, Chris Howarth to direct the Club's football strategy & analytics operations and Nick Hammond to lead the Club's player trading activity."

Hopefully they "Make Everton mid table again".

Some serious experience coming in there across a very broad range of operations. Actually quite mad.

Whilst it’s very possible we may have offered stupid money, they have very solid reputations and CVs they won’t want to tarnish. Would like to think that getting all of them in says a lot about the plans for the clubs progress they have been shown, and importantly the resources that will be made available to them.

Nick Cox does appear to be a very good appointment in particular. One that bodes well for the long-term.

Kinnear has hit the ground running with this restructure. This is the sort of thing other clubs take for granted but we haven't really had a lot of joined-up thinking at Everton.

Looks like the culmination of months of recruitment work mate.

What impressive is the flow of professionals from City & Utd, rather than vice versa - it begs the question of their motivation and what turned their head about the Everton project sufficiently to leave two of the biggest high profile clubs in the world - curious.

Another interesting facet is the purchase of insight sports lock stock by TFG to be used by the group to improve analytics.

Really does feel like a 360 execution of a plan.

Jim Smith looks on gardening leave for this window - though we’ve been linked with a lot of youth p,Ayers City have as well…..
