No mate we don’t, Everton spend 3 mil a week on wages, ST bring in 18 mil
Clubs only exist because fans fund them. Whether that is directly through ticket revenue, sponsorship deals or through TV deals, it is the fans who foot the bill.

Clubs get £100m+ from Sky. That is funded by fans who subscribe to Sky TV.

We pay the bills.

He owns the club. He might trust the DOF to manage the football side, but ownership of a football club encompasses more than just football.

His appointment of a DOF is likely because he wants that input at board level (he clearly trusts Brands or he wouldn't be on the board), but as an owner, he will absolutely want, and should be, seeking assurance that the DOF decisions are aligned to his expectations of the club as a whole.
Being the owner of a club does not mean you know what you're doing.

Fans foot part of the bill.

You need to remember across the UK that pub TV subscription per venue is an astronomical amount of money.

Fans globally won’t pay to watch Everton vs Burnley. They pay for Yanited vs Liverpool etc - and we get a huge slice of the pie.

Evertonians dont just foot the bill for Everton’s sky deal. The Irish red family and southern Utd supporters club also do.

In all Honesty, when do we think we will know who it is? The Euros start tomorrow so that will put a damper on making transfers but also not having a manager will also slow it down more.

I dont subscribe to Sky TV.
That doesn't matter even if you watch the game on a dodgy stream you still watch the adverts. You still see who the kit manufacturer is, and you still see who the sponsors are.

Whilst COVID has kept the fans away almost every game being on TV has raised the profile of sponsors.

Guess why clubs are sponsored because they expect to have their profile raised.

These days, betting funds clubs too.

Potter has worked wonders at Brighton on a minuscule budget.

This season Brighton conceded just 46 goals. That’s fewer goals than Leicester conceded, fewer goals than West Ham conceded and of course fewer goals than we conceded.

Brighton's big problem is their lack of a goal-scorer. Just 5 teams created more chances than Brighton this season but due to their lack of funds they didn’t have a good finisher to put the ball in the back of the net. Had someone like Patrick Bamford or even DCL been playing for Brighton this season they would have finished above us.

Potter is an excellent young manager. I just worry that he might not have the resilience to cope with the pressure and the criticism that would inevitably come his way. He doesn’t seem that strong a character and we Evertonians are merciless these days. Just look at how we hounded Stones and Barkley.
Great post.

I know I’ve posted favourably about Potter, but I have to agree that Christophe Galtier would be the dream appointment. He has performed miracles at every club he’s ever managed at, in particular Lille.

To take Lille from 18th place to FIRST place (ahead of the superstars of PSG, no less!) in the space of a few years is one of the great sporting achievements of the last decade.

Would he come here, though?

The next manager is going to have to go in similar in style to Moyes all those years ago with his very first team talk.

You're all a bit excrement so what you lack in quality you will have to make up for with hard work.
If you are not willing to work hard then leave.

There will be hardly anyone left guys.
