It's essentially the old one with the massive name taken off and formation date enclosed into the shield instead of either side of it. To me, that's just simply classic.

This is what it should be if they insist that we can't have anything outside the badge. I wouldn't even be arsed if they just didn't bother with Everton or 1878. Everyone knows that the badge above represents Everton and looks great.

I would be ok with any of those. It will be 1. for sure, though...and it's timeless and classy.

I also think that it is funny how fast this current padge has grown on peeps....winning makes any kind of padge tolerable...
It might also be that if we win something this season, lets say a FA Cup, peeps might see this current padge in different light and would be angry if they would change it x - talisman stuff

Why do the club insist on having Everton written on the crest? Everyone in football knows what an Everton badge looks like and if it's to market the club to people who might not (perhaps fans in America/ Asia) I would of thought that a nameless owl looking badge would intrigue them to want to find out more. OR SOMETHING.

Everybody in the UK maybe. Europe or further afield ? No chance.

We all moan that the club don't take advantage of the ever increasing global fanbase the Premier League has, well putting the name of the club on the badge which is used in all media is one way of doing that.

If it wasn't the right way to go you wouldn't see the likes of United, Chelsea, Arsenal etc. all doing it.

No. 3 is terrible, looks like they have made a shield that doesnt fit in the border they've made for it. Why does it HAVE TO have the text/date etc without any room for manoeuvre? I'm a designer by trade and work with Corporate Identity every day. All of the information they are trying to shoehorn into the design is making it too complex, hard to replicate and untidy - I would honestly keep the new one over any of the 3 shortlisted abominations.

Have they used 'Tahoma' for the Nil Satis text?! Jesus they may has well have used Comic Sans.
