Neville signs a year extension deal

He's a great defender, to be fair.

But without a right winger we need width from our right fullback, or we have one useless flank.

Neville now should be a utility player. He should not be an automatic starter, as we have better players for every position.

I know that yesterday everyone was wank anyway, but it's still a truth that without Neville the rest of the team don't show up. I think this is an issue that needs to be addressed somehow because as you say, he's not the strongest player in any position, and even though I like him we need Coleman to be playing RB more often and he's terrible in midfield, but he really does make that difference to how the rest of the team play.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

It's like they're actively thinking things up to take the piss.

I'm half expecting Jagielka to be sold and Stubbs getting a new contract.

I guarantee that if yesterday Hibbert played at rb and Nev was out people would be saying we needed Nev on the pitch to sort the team out.

He did absolutely nothing of worth yesterday.

Absolutely but neither did anybody else bar for Barkley and Baines really. Yesterday was a terrible effort all-round, we shouldn't really blame any one person at all.

I'm not blaming Nev for the loss, he was just as crap as pretty much everyone else.

But wasn't yesterday a great example of a game where you want your captain to stand up and be counted?

He doesn't have the ability to do so as a footballer so needs to do it with pointing and shouting, but he didn't appear to do so.

When people say thats his strongpoint and why he plays yesterday certainly didn't seem like it was.

And we have another 2 years of it.

Moyes needs to get rid of this "favourites" thing he has. A ****ing awful misuse of our limited finances.

<awaits six year extension for Osman with clause matching wages with highest earner>

While they're all fair points, you can't hold your entire evaluation of a player to one game.

He's not. You can point to the majority of his performances over the last three years to justify the opinion that not only should he not be given a contract extension, he should actually be sold to get his wages off our books - especially given our financial problems.

Well kinda this.

Yes i was making comment on Nev yesterday, however he has been getting worse and will only continue to do so.

I certainly don't expect his footballing performances to get any better than yesterday but his captaining certainly should, its that which people say he is so vital to us for.

It wasn't yesterday, and as we have another 2 years of him its needs to start having some affect.

Great timing to announce this on the back of such a good performance yesterday...

I won't knock Nev for his step overs, but wow, what's with the chipped crosses all the time? The balls in the air long enough to go and get a brew and get back to your seat in time to see it headed out.

Whip it in ffs.
