Like to throw this out to GOT members, are we not too negative with the posts / threads despite our current conundrum ?

being 9000 miles away I have lost the plot when it comes to the ins and outs of my beloved team were going to the match and the heated pub debates with my mates kept me up to speed also - telling the R/S mates to shut it while grown ups are talking

I joined GOT late last year just before Big Sam was brought in let me state Sam wasnt an option fancied , my call was Tuchel or Simeone , with Silva being a more realistic option

my point is I the latest Threads on GOT for example

Burnley match - over double more of the posts are predicting a loss versus a win , against a team that is in free fall , maybe I am foolhardy or ignorant or just a divvy but I always believe we will win no matter who we play or how bad we were - been wrong plenty of times but goes with the territory .
Big Sam - there is +5 threads related to him almost 80 to 90% wanting him out NOW also not just since the bad run started , many are rightly not happy with him but who else would have taken the job when there was a crescendo it was taking too long , he did give us a good results when he first came in not pretty but I believe it saved us from the drop , it is a short term contract and there should be no illusions there is an extention with a new decent choice for next season - therefore what good are the continous calls for him to be booted now and what are the options if that does happen ?

the above is two examples were majority of posts are what I would regard as negative about our club and seem to me that if you are positive it will come right back at you were you are slagged off as delusional

Mate, if you can watch a Manchester City or Liverpool game and see how they play, and then watch a replay of Watford v Everton and still remain positive and upbeat about Everton's current on-field situation, you're a much better person than me and 99% of GOT posters.

When we were crap without hope I could get my head around it.

The last pre season promised so much and then the season, which still isn’t over, destroyed me.

I’d still rather have this glimmer of hope called Moshiri, but being a blue is tough at times, especially now.

Its been a unexpected tough rough season that's for sure...
We need a clear out that's obvious & a new manager we believe in & trust to do a job over the next 5 years....

Being negative about a player, manager or any other thing in football gives you a very high percentage of being correct, which is why few are willing to nail their flags to the mast on a positive. Dead simple to end up being a know all in this game

Let the figures talk to see if it is justified or not:

That is painful to see, just didn't think we were quite THAT bad. If those figures are correct this bunch of soulless mercenaries deserve everything they get from the fans.
I was in the give Allerdyce time and see what happens camp but they are absolute relegation stats.......he, Walsh, Elstone and Kenwright need to leave ASAP in favour of a more professional set up.
Are (i know) fans are just giving an opinion based upon what we see on the pitch, so if its crap every week the negativity is deserved. I would be made up to never have to say "Everton that" again.

No trophy win in 22 years. No merseyside win derby in nearly 8 years.Sam Allardyce as manager. There is a lot to be negative about.Off the pitch Everton are setting the standards, with schemes like Everton in the community. But it's about time we get our act together on the pitch as well.

I agree with Cork. I have seen a few good, even great Everton sides. I’ve also seen some poor, even disgraceful performance from the players who represent the Club I support. That’s sport and as fans you deal with the emotions it brings.

What I won’t accept is Everton accepting a defeat before the game is played - Arsenal away this year being unforgivable - so any resentment is more about expecting better.

Remember the uproar about the change of our crest as the removal of those four latin words took away an important part of our identity? They are synonymous with Everton FC. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.

Current, past or future negativity. That’s why.

Fans were never sold on the idea of Allardyce - myself included - which may be where the negativity has come from before a ball was even kicked.

I always thought we were far too good for him and the clubs that hired him (Newcastle, WHU, Blackburn) were far, far beneath us in the footballing world. At the end of the day he was hired because Unsworth was the only viable contender for the job. He won't be here next season.

Glass half-full mentality, if we beat Burnley we have a chance of having one of our worst seasons in recent memory and still ending up in Europe.
