2025/26 Nathan Patterson

Essential for us overlapping & Paterson IMO has not done nothing wrong when asked to step in ....
I agree that he could consider himself unfortunate to have been dropped after those few outings where he played OK, but the stats show that contrary to some people's belief, O'Brien is actually the more effective of the two if you judge them on attacking metrics.

He will be on the games he gets -

Evidently that Cufff guy our scouts went to see him & told DM Patterson was far better than him .....

Yeah the reports that came out in the media said something along the lines of "Patterson is more Premier League ready than Norton-Cuffy. Tbh if we'd signed Norton-Cuffy I suspect he'd have been backup to O'Brien at RB rather than someone Moyes saw as a starter this season. I think Moyes, when he gets a formation/tactic/lineup in his mind he can be very stubborn and not like to deviate from it unless circumstances give him no option. Quite a stubborn manager.

If he makes himself available for selection I hope Moyes finds a way to get him out on the pitch at some point tonight. It's a shame that he seemingly stayed with the club in the hope of getting minutes, only to find himself looking like he's being frozen out again, especially in a World Cup year, where a handful of substitute appearances between now and the end of the season might be enough to maintain his match fitness and get him a spot on the plane to America.

It's difficult to see him ousting Jake O'Brien who seems to be Moyes preferred starter in that position, and who is performing well there.
Ahead of Coleman now. Everyone bar Grealish available.

Hiya HC, good to see you and thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure we can judge Patterson's place in the pecking order after tonight's debacle but I'm glad you found some positives to take from the game. I made you a picture to commemorate this joyous occasion.

Mental that he came on vs Brighton on the 90th minute added much needed width and was in part a large reason we snatched a point.

So what does he do, moving forward plays with Jake at RB who offers nothing at RB, because he’s a 6ft6 centre back…

Jake gets suspended and logically you’d imagine Patto comes back in, but no the clown moves our best midfielder to RB.

Moyes in his press conference talks about needing a RB in the summer. Talked about right back options and mentioned Garner and JOB. Didn't even mention Patterson.

I think we can out to bed any thoughts of Patterson playing again.
