He needs to be better than Young and Coleman in games and training. Dyche isn’t playing favorites, he’s already benched Keane and Gueye for younger players. The simplest explanation is that he needs to play better.
He benched Gueye because he had no option, he had to move Garner into the middle because Gueye was not available. He had been playing Garner wide right up to that point. As regards Keane, he was his first choice last season over Coady and Mina until, finally, he realized that he really was the weakest link, and brought in Mina for the last few games, to see us safe, just about.

Why isn’t Young expected to perform? Why does this burden only fall on Patterson? Young has been useless all season and cost us multiple times. Patterson gets one chance and that’s it. It’s completely unfair and absolutely favouritism.

Wasnt he being praised at the start of last season?
Yeah until he got injured and Coleman came back in. (Coleman had been injured for the first league game but was back by the 2nd game and didn’t get back in the team until week 8 when Patterson was unavailable).

He then performed well and rightly didn’t lose his place when Patterson returned because of that.

After 10 league games last season we were like in the top 3 or 4 for least goals conceded.
