It’s a dereliction of duty by Dyche to keep selecting young at rb ahead of this lad.

Im also hoping by the time the January window rolls around, we won’t be in a relegation threatened season as we’re comfortably mid table and well away from the bottom 3, and Patterson is part of a solid successful team - why loan out a promising young player if we are in that position?
Last two games he's played well.

I think a loan would be ideal for his development, provided he can break into a team at a lower level - worst care scenario is that he gets loaned out and repeats the last couple of years here by not impressing a further manager and being unable to get the minutes he needs to try to learn to play the position.

I also think those who ferociously defend him on here would benefit from him having a loan too, giving them a bit of room to breathe and an opportunity to change the story. For a player third choice in his position there's been a lot of noise around him.

He was very good in the first half of last season mate, he was developing over a run of games, thats the biggest thing for me - he needs games consistently to develop - hes never had that in his career. That shows and at this stage and at this level at his age hes actually inexperienced. Hes got chances and he just hasn't done enough to take it, thats not a criticism i think thats just his inexperience. Hes at times been targeted for the overload due to that inexperience as well at this level - but thats on us our lack of options and development of the lad.

We need to be able to look to him next season and for him and us he needa games and experience at this stage of his development to be a serious option next year, we need to be fair to him. He would benefit from being a first teamer at a lower level for the second half of the season, its a pith we are likely to be in relgatiton consideration becasue a lower PL lowaer would be ideal but prob not sensible, if he did go id be inserting a recall defo.

That’s exactly what I’ve said from the start he’s always needed the minutes very inexperienced and expected to wing it in the premier league with the state of our squad/club, he was never Rico lewis/ Trent levels or coming into a City or RS side was always going to be a struggle for him.

If hes not going to be used when Coleman is fit then Id agree.

But, Young has proven to be far worse.

Also Coleman no one knows how he returns...could be worse than Young after age and injury.

Patterson should have been playing all season with Young as LB/RB backup.

Now we have a 35 year old and a poor 38 year old as RB options it seems.

he was better than at anfield, but that's not saying too much
First against Burnley's B team
and though he did ok (burnt a few times) against Mitoma, he was gassed early and shouldve been off for Patterson

I'm not saying he should be put out to pasture or anything but he shouldnt be first choice over Patterson, and definitely shouldn't play 2 full games in 3 days

That's some statement to make. What recommends Patterson to be a starter for Everton?!
