2023/24 Nathan Patterson

I don't think the article was slating Nathan Patterson for his whole performance, just more for the way he defended when Georgia scored their second goal. To be fair to you though, it would appear that he didn't have the best of games, which was probably partly due to his lack of game time, as well as picking up a yellow card within the first ten minutes and then having to contend with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the rest of the match trying not to receive a second yellow.

The lad may not be Danny McGrain but I don't think he's as bad as a lot of people try making him out to be. Hopefully, he'll get another go on Sunday, when Scotland face Norway, as he does need to be playing more.

Neither of you watched it, why you commenting on his performance.

I still think He'll come good, have to remember he's still very new to this level of football and he hasn't looked out of place in my opinion. I think this could be a case of sticking now and reaping benefits later a bit like DCL.

One things for sure, he's certainly no worse than Gashley Dung who has zero upsides and has cost us a fair few goals and points already.

Just find it baffling people discussing a football player's performance they never watched. May as well sign Stevie Wonder up for a GOT account.

Or you could just ignore the posts that you don't like and move on. It's a footy forum, people are going to discuss footy and players etc., that's just the way it is. Here's something for you, I've discussed WW2 with people before today but guess what? Now this is going to melt your mind... I never took part in or even saw WW2, I wasn't even alive back then.

….I was very keen on bringing him in, I watched him for Scotland and he showed promise. I thought he’d be ideal for the transition from Coleman but now I actually understand why he rarely starts games.
I think he could of been the transition from Coleman but poor recruitment has meant we needed him to play and start the last 2 seasons as first choice RB he was never ready for that and should of been out on loan for 12/18 months gaining first team experience. He’s had non of that been stop start through his own injuries and not being selected and we’re in the same position as when he come in we still need a RB pretty much 2 years behind in his development now, on the ball he’s fine and going forward but it’s the defensive side and learning it against good players/teams you only get that from playing competitive football.

I feel Patterson needs to play more or be sold on; hopefully, it will be the former. Like you, I do think he will come good for us if given a proper chance.

Not sure what the deal is with Ashley Young as no matter how bad he plays he still gets in the starting eleven, maybe a certain amount of guaranteed game time was part of his contract when he signed for us.

I’m sure one of the coaching staff, maybe even Dyche, talked about having experience around Branthwaite. So maybe having two young players who will make mistakes is too much for the defence at this point.

Player ratings from sofascore. Hope he gets another start v Norway on Sunday night.

A score of 6.3 isn't too bad.

….I just don’t get comments like this.

Posters form opinions on players and post them on a fans forum. I’m sure we’d all be delighted if Patterson was proving to be the real deal but he’s been disappointing and surely it’s perfectly reasonable to say that.

Absolutely this. I really want the lad to get a chance away from the spotlight, get a run of games and improve to come back and play for us or be sold.
