Just wait and see, hints of it the past few weeks.
I'd like Patterson to be a success and had high hopes but after nearly 2 years we have seen only a handful of performances and a lack of progress compared to the likes of Branthwaite who we can all admit looks a player at a similar age.
Some people will point the blame at Dyche for not starting him, but him and his staff see him on a daily basis and don't deem he good enough to start for Everton.
The ideal solution for all parties would be a loan deal in January in the Championship or abroad and he gets a good run of 15-20 starts on the run. Coleman is back soon and he will be more than likely the 3rd choice rightback unfortunately.
I think he has a high ceiling. But I also think he has been misused. He probably should have had a loan when he first joined, like Coleman did, like
branthwaite essentially did. He wasn’t given that luxury and came into a relegation scrapping team.
He probably should have been used as a RW when we have struggled for wingers. Like Coleman was for 2 seasons even after his loan.
I think part of Dyches decision making is having a youth player in
Branthwaite already starting every game, and want experience around him. (Especially when you think that Myko is also relatively young and not vastly PL experienced either).
I just hate the vitriol a young player gets when he hasn’t been afforded the same opportunities such as loans, and is in and out the team, signed under 1 manager and has had 2 others since.
And there is an agenda by certain posters. and so myself and others get defensive. Because it’s blatant at this point. One of them hasn’t made a post since Monday, but came on to have a dig about Patterson last night despite clearly not even watching the game. Hasn’t made another post since.
