Absolutely, diamond in the rough, and I'll be much happier to be proved wrong and stay patient with this age of player than a has been mercenary like... (add countless names of Delph like players here)

When I think of some of the no man’s land defending last season I’m baffled by people questioning him on his debut, this lad was good on the ball, was competitive aggressive in the air. Had one or 2 moments of committing in the1st half but he was a breath of fresh air for me. He’s gonna turn out to be a great acquisition. Vault me

His first game in the Prem, against Chelsea, and he was absolutely fine. Can't ask for much more than that from a 20-year-old.

Played one of the top three sides in the league on his debut and did alright.

For a 20 year old I would say that it is promising.

Sterling caused him some problems, but Sterling is and has been one of the best attacking players in the league (won it a few times).

I did. I just highlighted the fact you speak as an authority on both players, but yet, you don't know the fundamental basics on either, as you have continually and consistently shown. As a premier League debut goes for a 20 year old, he did well.

Better than many… offered more defensively than offensively due to the quality of the opponent. Tidy in possession of a little unadventurous (Giveit it’s his first EPL start not unexpected).

Overall I’d give a 6.5 out of 10 which, given the opposition and his first EPL start I would say is very promising.

He’s going to get better, maybe dives in and wants to win the ball to eagerly but I don’t mind that, he’s wants to contest and win balls. He works hard on and off the ball, and is a great outlet on that right. I really like him. He’ll only get better. Lay off the kid.
