I don’t think Patterson would’ve played regardless of the injury personally. He might’ve played on Sunday because Coleman was out, but Coleman is back now so he’s playing every minute he’s available for from here on in.
And Coleman playing every minute will be one of the reasons we get relegated - as he is absolutely god-awful these days.

My hope was that once Patterson gets a spin, Lampard would be forced to integrate him more.

If we didn’t have bad luck…

Ah well, good preseason and hope to see him installed as first choice right back next season. Looks a real prospect, definitely ahead of Coleman in terms of development when he took over from an over the hill Phil Neville.
 

Lampard said "Patterson knows he was going to start" so all you doom conspirators saying Frank was telling porkies will have to find another load of crap to spout
