Is the book worth it? Had it on my to-buy list after noticing the arguments about the film.

Pretty repetitive, tbh. She sets her theory up and then tests it ad nauseum across the globe in the post war period. A novel idea taken to extreme. She's very thorough on the nuts and bolts of each individual crisis though. Worth a punt, I suppose.
