My eleven vs Stoke.

Until this transfer window is over, I'd use Baines sparingly and treat him as Oviedo's stand in. We need it to be less of a shock to the system if he leaves. Put him in against QPR and use as a sub in games against Norwich and WBA when/if the game is under control.

I must have taken Martinez's comments about Baines 100% not leaving at face value.........surely he wouldn't now let him go after Roberto being quite so categoric?

QPR have been horrible since mid-October, 4 wins in 13 games. I can see 'Arry targeting the game against us as a platform. Better to be safe than sorry in that one.

Howard
Coleman,Alcaraz,Distin,Baines.
MCCarthy Barry
Mirrallas,Barkley,Oviedo,
Lukaku.

Robles,Pienarr,Osman, Vellios,Stones,Hibbert,Naismith.
Subs :

Naismith was played to keep Shaw quiet , which he did, he also won every header which none of our so called better players "read" and worked harder in 90 minutes than Mirallas has done in 18

Agreed. Thought Naismith did a good job on the whole. Showed lots of hustle, did exactly what was asked of him. Professional performance.

Naismith played well, not sure what exactly is going on in this thread. He will always cut inside because that's what he should do. We saw what happened if he doesn't with Oviedo, he stayed wide and he and Baines were constantly in each others' way.

A winger is supposed to go inside when it's at Coleman's feet and looking for a pass? You sure?

Where is the ball on the pitch? Certainly, you don't need two guys on the outside. And Coleman was never alone, always had an outlet with McCarthy or Osman.

As it has been for a few years, our fullbacks provide the width in attack. In defense, Naismith will take up a wider role to cover the opposition's fullback.
